If you’re suffering from a toothache or major dental discomfort, call us right away. We should be able to see you today – even if you’ve never been to our office before. Your dental emergency is important to us, usually, we have emergency time in our daily schedule. Having a toothache is misery and could be a sign of something more serious like a spreading infection so it’s important to not ignore the signs. In many cases, ignoring the problem may lead to more severe consequences, pain and expense.

Sometimes people fear dental appointments if they’ve had negative experiences in the past. We understand that and we will explain everything before any treatment is rendered. Other times, patients feel anxious because they haven’t been to a dentist in a long time or they’re concerned about the expense. Dr. Smith realizes you may have fears and since he understands this, he and his staff will make sure your visit is relaxed and comfortable. Dr. Smith has experience treating orthodontic patients so if you have an orthodontic emergency, we can usually give you immediate help if your orthodontist is unavailable.

Important Reasons to Contact Frankfort Emergency Dentist:

  • This generally happens when a tooth is infected due to advanced decay or decay under an old filling. Heavy grinding and clenching can also produce similar symptoms and has become a very common finding among dental emergencies. The sooner the patient sees a dentist, the quicker we can get you out of pain.
  • If you have a temporary or permanent crown that has come off, it’s important to see us as soon as possible even if it doesn’t hurt. This needs to be addressed immediately or your teeth may shift slightly and prevent the crown from fitting properly. If you lose an implant crown it is even more essential you seek care immediately. If you’ve lost a filling, we can often replace it for you that day.
  • This may not cause a lot of pain or be a true emergency but, many patients view this as a big problem since it may become cosmetically unattractive. We understand that. Sometimes a simple and quick dental bonding procedure can get your tooth looking good again.
  • There aren’t very many orthodontic emergencies but sometimes things happen and you don’t want to wait several days to see your orthodontist. Dr. Smith has expertise in handling orthodontic emergencies. If you have lost a bracket, or have major discomfort inside your mouth from broken wires, just call us.
  • If you have a tooth knocked out, gently gather the tooth without cleaning it, keep it moist or put it in a glass of milk and come straight to our office. We may be able to reimplant your tooth back into the socket if you see us soon enough. It will need to be reimplanted within about 30 to 60 minutes from the time of injury.
